What is Skateboard Street Best Trick?

Skateboard street is a style of skateboarding that takes place on a course simulating urban terrain using everyday objects such as curbs, stairs, handrails, benches and quarter pipes as obstacles. Skateboarders use these obstacles to perform a variety of tricks, grinds, and slides, often combining multiple maneuvers into a single trick. Skateboard street requires a high level of creativity, adaptability, and technical skill, as riders must be able to navigate the urban landscape and perform tricks with precision and control. Skateboard Street Best Trick involve riders performing their best trick on a chosen feature, with judges evaluating the difficulty, execution, and originality of their trick.

There’s no getting away from the fact the new BMW M5 is a bit of a porker. The previous-generation super-saloon weighed 1895kg; this new one is 540kg more…

Blame the plug-in, hybridised V8, which delivers more power (up 140bhp) and torque (up 184lb ft) than the last M5, and a parsimonious 160mpg+ on the WLTP fuel test. And while figures like those probably looked enticing when BMW started development years ago, enthusiasts aren’t exactly lapping up electrified performance cars in 2024…

But, but, but… this is also an all-new BMW M5! It’s the stuff of legend, with a long legacy of always being top dog over and above rivals from Audi and Mercedes. And while there’s yet to be a new AMG version of the E-class, and Audi will soon end production of the RS6 and RS7, the M5 is here, and with a stonkingly powerful V8 too. Downsizing is not in effect!

Chloe is an internationally acclaimed social designer, artist, and humanitarian. Fueled by an unshakable reverence for all life, her practice demands dignity for all, and centers the reimagining of societal systems to guarantee global well-being. Hakim-Moore designed and leads NEXT Memphis: a $32 million initiative of Porter-Leath to increase access to high quality early childhood education for all families in Shelby County.

Her past projects include: leading the operations of First 8 Memphis; partnering with the National Institutes of Health to serve persons with disabilities in Trinidad and Tobago; and supporting refugees and immigrants through designing citizenship attainment and food entrepreneurship opportunities. There's a race to save a dozen small cetaceans, the last in the world of their species. They're caught as bycatch in nets set to trap a fish with a huge demand in China. Can anything be done?

It all begins in Mexico, in the Gulf of California, just 97 miles from the US, where the totoaba is endemic. The demand for its swim bladder is at the heart of the issue. Two key towns in this region, San Felipe and Santa Clara, rely almost entirely on fishing shrimp and local fish. Times are perpetually challenging but engaging in illicit totoaba fishing can yield a substantial paycheck. They became overfished in the 2010s when a catch like this could generate hundreds of thousands of dollars each month.

Adding to the severity of the situation for this endangered fish, the nets used to catch this species, as well as those used for local shrimp, have inadvertently captured a small porpoise native to the Gulf of California, Mexico: the vaquita marina. This has pushed it to the brink of extinction. The latest survey in 2024 was only able to spot 6-8 vaquitas, from 10-13 last year. The US is exerting pressure on Mexico over the issue, and scientists, along with environmentalists and law enforcement in several countries, are working tirelessly to save the vaquita, halt totoaba trafficking and develop sustainable alternatives to harmful nets.

The thrilling world of the X Games goes to the beach this Summer at the World Surf League (WSL) Lexus US Open of Surfing and we brought a halfpipe. On the south side of the Huntington Beach Pier, X Games hosted the Lexus X Games Vert Pro, with top pro and amateur Vert skateboarders in attendance. The competitions took place during both weekends of the highly-anticipated summer festival, starting on August 3, 2024.

With a massive 13 foot skateboard Vert ramp right on the beach, fans can get up close to legends like 12-time X Games medalist Jimmy Wilkins, 16-time medalist Elliot Sloan, and Tony Hawk’s protege, 11-year-old Reese Nelson, all hosted by the loudest voice in action sports commentary: Jason Ellis.
