The term “pre-adamic” has been used to describe various ideas about the state of God’s creation prior to the creation of Adam and his role in the Garden of Eden. Some have rejected the idea outright, arguing that there is no pre-adamic history other than the five-day creation account prior to day six. Others have abused the concept of a pre-adamic race to justify racism. Have you ever chased after something you thought would make you happy, only to find it empty in the end? King Solomon, the wealthiest and wisest man of his time, conducted a grand experiment in the pursuit of fulfillment. His conclusion? Life “under the sun” is like trying to grab smoke—futile and fleeting.

Summary:
In Ecclesiastes 2, Solomon tests three major avenues of human fulfillment—pleasure, wisdom, and work. He indulges in every earthly delight, builds vast projects, gains unparalleled knowledge, and achieves incredible success. Yet, each pursuit leads him to the same realization: nothing in this world truly satisfies. His wisdom remains, but even the wise and the fool share the same fate—death. His work is grand, but it will one day be inherited by those who may squander it. Solomon concludes that lasting fulfillment is not found “under the sun” but in something greater—God.

Our feelings can be incredibly unreliable and misleading. As scripture says, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭9‬ ‭

We must hold our feelings accountable to the word of God. It's our map guide to life and in the end, God should inform our feelings not the other way around. Scripture tells us how to live, act, think and behave.

We talk about how our emotions can get the best of us, and we make decisions not based on an emotional bias.
