Maserati recently unveiled a new take on its really rather impressive V6-engined supercar. Formerly known as Project24, the MCXtrema does exactly what it says on the tin – it’s the most extreme thing that Maserati could come up with using the bones of the MC20, and the 62 examples that are set to be built can *only* be used on track.

It drives pretty differently too. Not least because the 3.0-litre Nettuno V6 now has new, bigger turbos, a new intake and a different exhaust system for a total of 730bhp.

All that power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox and limited slip diff, and the MCXtrema only weighs around 1,300kg thanks to a liberal use of carbon fibre and the fact that there’s only one seat as standard in the race-spec cockpit.

Each of the 62 cars will be completely unique in its spec, costing just under £1 million. Not that it matters too much, because of course they’re all sold out already…

After three months away, it was a triumphant return for Real Madrid to the Santiago Bernabéu. Our team beat Valladolid in the second match of the LaLiga season. Embedded in the landscape, Always by Kennedy Nolan is an off-grid house of contrast – balancing light and dark, openness with retreat, and a sense of casualness with high performance.

The off-grid house sits humbly within the streetscape. Kennedy Nolan designed the house to ensure it isn’t visible from the street; it is intended to eventually be enveloped by the native landscape, its form weaving itself intricately and seamlessly within the surroundings. “From the beach, it should recede into the landscape over time, and so what we did was pull it [the home] into the side of the cliff so that it would be less and less visible,” notes founding partner of Kennedy Nolan, Patrick Kennedy.

The home is also robust, needing to withstand the harsh coastal climate, potential erosion and windy conditions typical of the Morning Peninsula where the off-grid house resides. “One of the challenges in building here is that, geologically, it is one of the most difficult soil conditions you can find in Victoria,” says Kennedy.

Beyond the bespoke front gates, designed by Indigenous designer Jack Nash who also named the off-grid house in reference to the principle of ‘always was, always will be, Aboriginal land,’ the house exists in several parts. “At the top of the site is a guesthouse and as you move down the cliff, you enter through a stone wall into an entry deck and from that deck there are several pathways into the house,” says Kennedy. “The planning is deliberately informal, designed to make you experience the landscape and the garden,” he continues. This constant connection to the outdoors enhances the sense of immersion and acts as a reminder of place.

In this sense, the design appears simple and grounded. Kennedy explains; “this house looks and feels like a beach house – it's relaxed and casual – but it’s also extremely high-performing.” He explains how this is different from many Australian beach houses in terms of thermal comfort, being both comfortable and energy efficient.

Finishes and materials are dominated by raw, natural and solid qualities that require a level of low maintenance. The stone and hard masonry on the exterior will soften over time as the planted landscape grows and eventually encompasses much of the structure. The interiors are all lined in natural materials that are non-reflective, such as timber. The choice of materials also plays into reinforcing an overall colour scheme, which is warm and tonal. To determine a colour scheme, Kennedy Nolan took cues from the client’s interest in Indigenous art as well as the hues of natural materials.

In this sense, there is a constant play between lightness and dark within the off-grid house. “We love to be in the light, to see the sun … but we are also aware that in Australia, that can sometimes be an uncomfortable thing,” explains Kennedy.

“When I think about what I’m most proud of … it’s that Always is a house that is going to improve with age; it feels like it is a place that is going to belong to this landscape over time,” reflects Kennedy. Anchored in place with strong materials, Always speaks to its namesake – a humble shelter that aims to remain unchanged for many years to come.

However, this is a Porsche restomod that’s not a 911. It is, in fact, a 928. A 928 that French company Nardone Automotive has given a thorough refresh with the help of Podium Technologies, the Italian firm that engineered the Glickenhaus 007 LMH endurance racer and Automobili Amos Lancia Delta restomod.

Frankly, it’s gorgeous, with new carbonfibre bodywork, a revised gearbox, a breathed-on V8 engine, a futuristic-yet-retro interior, and an utterly awesome sound system.

Under the direction of award-winning filmmaker Kenji Kamiyama (the “Blade Runner: Black Lotus” and “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex” TV series), the talented voice cast is led by Brian Cox (“Succession”) as Helm Hammerhand, the mighty King of Rohan; Gaia Wise (“A Walk in the Woods”) as his daughter Héra; and Luke Pasqualino (“Snowpiercer”) as Wulf. Miranda Otto, who delivered an unforgettable, award-winning performance in “The Lord of the Rings” Trilogy, reprises her role as Éowyn, Shieldmaiden of Rohan, who serves as the tale’s narrator. Set 183 years before the events chronicled in the original trilogy of films, “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim” tells the fate of the House of Helm Hammerhand, the legendary King of Rohan. A sudden attack by Wulf, a clever and ruthless Dunlending lord seeking vengeance for the death of his father, forces Helm and his people to make a daring last stand in the ancient stronghold of the Hornburg— a mighty fortress that will later come to be known as Helm’s Deep. Finding herself in an increasingly desperate situation, Héra, the daughter of Helm, must summon the will to lead the resistance against a deadly enemy intent on their total destruction.

With Kamiyama at the helm, the original feature is being produced by Oscar winner Philippa Boyens, from the screenwriting team behind “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” Trilogies, alongside Jason DeMarco and Joseph Chou, who, in addition to their many separate animation projects, collaborated on the “Blade Runner: Black Lotus” series. The executive producers are Fran Walsh, Peter Jackson, Sam Register, Carolyn Blackwood and Toby Emmerich. The screenplay is by Jeffrey Addiss & Will Matthews and Phoebe Gittins & Arty Papageorgiou, story by Addiss & Matthews and Boyens, based on characters created by J.R.R. Tolkien. A New Line Cinema Presentation, a Warner Bros. Animation / Sola Entertainment Production, “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim,” will be distributed theatrically worldwide by Warner Bros. The Cretya Ubud is a stunning club located in Bali, Indonesia, renowned for hosting performances by renowned DJs. Situated amidst Bali's lush nature, this venue combines the vibrant energy of electronic music with the natural tranquility of the surrounding landscape.

Cretya Ubud offers an immersive experience to visitors, considered one of the most beautiful clubs in Indonesia.

I had the honor of performing at one of the main parties at the club, SAVANNAH. I was responsible for closing the event, playing right at sunset from 5pm to 8pm, blending House Music, Melodic House, and Progressive House.

The beginning of the set is marked by a more relaxing vibe, where I play tracks like "When You Got Love" by Michael Canitrot (00:21:00) and "The Brooklyn Gypsy" by Danny Tenaglia (00:25:00). The peak of the set is right at sunset, when I play "Big Jet Plane" by Animal Trainer and Jan Blomqvist (00:51:00) and "Who Loves the Sun" by DSF (01:08:00). I conclude the set with one of my tracks, "By My Side" (01:56:00).

O Cretya Ubud oferece uma experiência imersiva aos visitantes, sendo considerado um dos clubs mais bonitos da Indonésia.

Eu tive a honra de me apresentar em uma das principais festas do Club, a SAVANNAH. Fui o responsável por encerrar a festa, tocando bem no horário do por do sol, das 5pm às 8pm, transitando pela House Music, Melodic House e Progressive House.

O início do set é marcado por uma vibe mais relaxante, momento em que toco faixas como "When You Got Love" de Michael Canitrot (00:21:00) e "The Brooklyn Gypsy" de Danny Tenaglia (00:25:00). O ápice do set ocorre ao pôr do sol, quando eu toco "Big Jet Plane", de Animal Trainer e Jan Blomqvist (00:51:00), e "Who Loves the Sun" de DSF (01:08:00). Finalizo o set com uma das minhas tracks, "By My Side" (01:56:00).
